So today, after seminary, I was getting into my car. I drive Kara, Charlee, Corey, and Taylor to school too, so keep in mind that they were here during this whole event. Anyway, I was getting into my car, and I had my keys in my left hand - the one I was shutting the door with. I have a lanyard on my key chain, and I didn't want it to get stuck in the door. So, I lift my hand up to get it out of the way, not realizing how high up my hand was or how quickly the door was shutting.
As you can probably guess, the door slammed on my hand. It wasn't even one of those where you just barely get the tips of your fingers - my whole hand was actually stuck in the door. I tried to just pull my fingers out, but of course, the wouldn't budge. So then I started trying to open the door. I kept pulling and pulling on the handle, but the door wouldn't open even when it was unlocked! Finally, I remembered that the handle is broken. You have to puch down on the bottom of it, or else it won't open. You'd think that I would remember that sooner, especially since my fingers are nearly breaking!
So I finally get the door open, and wait a few seconds while the blood rushes back in and the pain starts. It seriously felt like they were all broken. I couldn't move them for the first few minutes, but in no time I was fine to move them. It still hurt, but not a broken kind of hurt. I was just checking everything out to make sure my fingers weren't bleeding anywhere or bending in awkward places, and I noticed that it was already turning into a bruise. There was even a line of blood blisters on the back of one finger.
I just thought I'd share my little clumsy moment today. I thought it was pretty hilarious, even though it hurt like crazy - and still hurts. Oh well, it'll get better. I'm kind of afraid that my finger is going to be black tomorrow. But then again, I don't bruise easy, so it probably won't be as bad as I'm expecting.
