Kids Book

Okay, so I've been writing a kids book for my FTA class and for my Young Women in Excellence project, and I finally got it done tonight. I'm so excited! It turned out WAY cuter than I would have hoped. I still have to put it into an actual book, but that should be easy now that I've got the story down. Anyway, there may be a few corrections that I'll make here and there, but this is it, for the most part. I hope you enjoy it! Oh, and if anyone has a good idea for a title, please share. I'm a little stuck on that little part.

Dewey is a short, silly plant
Who lives next door to his aunt
Her name is LaFern
And she tends to be stern
He wants to ignore her, but can’t

For their roots are twisted, you see
Reaching deep beneath a big tree
LaFern is too grumpy
Because she’s so stumpy
Dewey wishes that he could just flee

Since his roots grow so deep in the ground
He is almost entirely bound
But he won’t cease to try
‘Till he says his goodbyes
Oh, what a fantastic sound!

One day, while twisting and turning
Dewey felt all his roots a-moving
He pulled himself free
And crawled toward the tree
Then started a new beginning

He walked for hours and hours
Passing many types of flowers
He got very thirsty
And also real dirty
So he wished for an April shower

Dewey put his roots back into the soot
‘Till he could feel the water on his foot
He found it was rocky
And made him feel stocky
So his good mood just went “ka-put”

He sat in dry ground for a while
But could not even force out a smile
He missed his stern aunt
And realized he can’t
Leave her all alone in exile

Dewey made his way back over yonder
While trying real hard not to wander
He arrived there at last
And made it there fast
Then he instantly felt much better.

LaFern and Dewey rejoiced
They were glad that he’d made a good choice
Together again
Family to the end
They cheered with a jubilant voice

Photoshop

Wow. I think I may have found my favorite thing to do to with pictures. I got really bored today, so I decided to try out some new eye colors and edit up some pictures of me and stuff. I just took these pictures on Friday before my school's Incoming game, so I figured I'd use these. It is way more fun than you'd expect! I even had my eyes red at one point. Doing all this has made me want to get colored contatcs too! Anyway, I just thought I'd share these pictures. (: Enjoy!

Cool Dude!

Lexi loves putting these sunglasses on. They're way too big for her, too, so it makes it even cuter! She always says some funny things when she's wearing them. "Cool dude!" has got to be my favorite, though. It's hilarious. Anyway, just thought I'd share this picture with her sunglasses on.

7 years ago, today..

I cannot believe 7 years have already passed since that tragic day. I was only in 4th grade, when I woke up to find my mom and my sisters watching the news with tear-streaked faces. Watching the planes crashing into the twin towers was one of the most horrible things I've seen. I can't even imagine what it must have been like to be directly affected by it. For that reason, I dedicate this post to all those who lost a loved one in the September 11th terrorist attack. My heart goes out to you all.

Zeke

Just a quick update. I got these funny pictures of Zeke the other day, and I haven't posted in a while, so I figure "why not"? Anyway, in the first one, he's not quite awake yet. He's still in his cute little ball; hence the name Ball Python - they do this when they dont want to be bugged. The second one was when I was cleaning out the poo in his tub. He had somehow gotten under his water dish without spilling any water. It was so weird. But yeah, he's doing better! He's starting to eat normally again. I found out that the trick is to feed him before the other snakes, while the mice are still warm. We got him to eat 2 JUMBO mice a couple weeks ago. I was so excited!
