Happy Independence Day!!

In spirit of this holiday, I thought I'd share a really funny story about one of our snakes, and their little freedon trip.

So, on Wednesday morning, I was sitting on my floor doing my hair. I had my radio, which is inside my closet, turned up full blast. Then I see a little orange thing moving out of the corner of my eye, so I look down and see a little head poking out of my closet just looking at me.

It didn't even really click in my brain that one of the snakes was in my closet. So I keep doin my hair for a couple minutes before I realize what I had just seen. So I look back, and sure enough, Sheila is sitting right there checking out what I'm doing. It scared me half to death. I jumped up so fast that I got light headed.

I scream for my mom to come in and look at my closet, and when she sees it, she asks if it's Boomer of Sheila. I had automatically assumed it was Sheila, since her cage is in my room. So we look over at her cage, which is closed and clamped shut, only to find that Sheila is still in it.

So, the snake in my closet, in actuallity, was Boomer, whose cage is in the front room. We had no idea he had gotten out, let alone how or when he got out. So we go look at his cage, and I guess someone hadn't closed it right, because there was a little teeny tiny opening that he could have escaped from.

The scary thing about this is that when I got him out of my closet, he was all tangled in my basketball shorts. I had done some of my laundry earlier that morning, and could have easily put him in with it, and drowned him without even knowing it. I'm just glad that he decided to escape the loudness of my radio and present himself, or else he very easily could have been put in with the next load.

Anyway, that's my story. I thought it was hilarious, so I couldnt help but share it on here. I don't have any recent pictures of Boomer to post with it though, but I'll probably just do a shoot for all the snakes soon, so I'll post them when I do it.
